普碳鋼沸騰鋼板顧名思義是由普通碳素結(jié)構(gòu)鋼的沸騰鋼熱軋制成的鋼板。沸騰鋼是一種脫氧不完全的鋼材，鋼液含氧量較高，當鋼水注入鋼錠模后，碳氧反應產(chǎn)生大量氣體，造成鋼液呈沸騰狀態(tài)而得名。

沸騰鋼沒有大的集中縮孔，用脫氧劑少，鋼材成本低。沸騰鋼心部雜質(zhì)多，偏析較嚴重，力學性能不均勻，鋼中氣體含量較多，韌性低、冷脆和時效敏感性較大，焊接性能較差，故不適用于制造承受沖擊截荷，在低溫下工作的焊接結(jié)構(gòu)件和其他重要結(jié)構(gòu)件。

沸騰鋼板大量用制造各種沖壓件、建筑及工程結(jié)構(gòu)和一些不太重要的機器結(jié)構(gòu)和零件。其材質(zhì)的牌號、化學成分和力學性能符合GB700-79（88）（普通碳素結(jié)構(gòu)鋼技術(shù)條件）中沸騰鋼的規(guī)定。熱軋中厚鋼板厚度為4.5-200mm。
